Kids

Kids has been established in Yorkshire and the Humber since 1988 and provides services for families living in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. They currently help over 1,000 disabled children and their families each year. Kids had a logo as used by Kids National as well as other regional sites. We were given an almost blank canvas for this project. The only requests we had were the menu design and the site must be children friendly.

We used the existing corporate colours to really make the site stand out. We were conscious throughout about the colour of backgrounds and text, as some colour combinations could be hard to read by visually impaired viewers. We used a three column layout in order to maximise the use of available space. There is a parents forum and generous amounts of information within the site, yet it remains uncomplicated and easy to navigate. We used photo-editing to create the top photograph of just some of the wonderful children at Kids.
